I. Steven Edelson

Steven Edelson is a Principal of Mercantile Capital Group and a Managing Director in the Chicago office.  Mr. Edelson has also served as a Principal of Mercantile Capital Markets since 1997. The firm’s activities include private equity investments in early stage companies, PIPEs, mezzanine investments, buyouts, project financings and bridge financings.

Mr. Edelson has been involved in finance and real estate for more than eighteen years and has completed transactions in excess of $3.5 billion in value. Prior to Mercantile, Mr. Edelson was Executive Vice President of Tishman Midwest Management Corporation. He was also involved in composing the winning bids to provide full facility management services at Harold Washington Library and at the International Terminal at O’Hare International Airport.

Mr. Edelson has also served as Managing Director of International Facilities Group (IFG), a leading facilities development and management company. At IFG, Steven represented Dade County and a committee of leading local businessman in their successful campaign to retain the Miami Heat franchise in Dade County. Mr. Edelson serves on the Business Council for the Woodrow Wilson Center and the Supervisory Committee of Urban America.
