Details: In a challenging environment where multiple MACs ("Moves, Adds, and Changes") occur daily, iTRACS Corporation worked with the Infrastructure Manager at a corporate headquarters location to help improve the change control orders within the network. The customer required a comprehensive change control process which was simple to use, but that provided complete monitoring of their multi-location, multi-domain network.

iTRACS PLM with iDiscover was installed to effectively monitor and manage work orders across all locations. This allowed remote planning of MACs for technicians who were provided with access to physical location details. Color illustrations of floor plans and populated racks could be included with each work order. Administrators could receive notification of work completed and update the database with a single click.

Once in place, the infrastructure management software was able to automate, control and streamline the work order process, increase productivity and maintain business compliance. iTRACS iDiscover increased the infrastructure management capability by providing an automated means to poll every SNMP-enabled active device on the network, reporting back any information correlated to its IP and MAC address.
