The iTRACS iDiscover software enhancement module is an add on to the iTRACS Physical Layer Manager software platform. iTRACS iDiscover auto-discovers active network devices (i.e., PCs, servers, data switches, IP phones, VoIP switches, wireless access points and network printers). It identifies their type, host name, IP and MAC addresses and determines their location and automatically updates the database.

The iTRACS iDiscover features include:

• Physical and network location and asset information of all active devices connected to the network with multiple levels of detail
• Data collection features can collect detailed information from switches and other devices as well as workstations. Also obtains information from WMI, SNMP, remote registry and Windows File System.
• Multiple agentless technology for increased control of various methods to discover information and collect data
• Identification of network status and location information from the logical view down to the physical view
• Detection of new or unauthorized devices for enhanced network security and virus detection
