iTRACS Authorized iDiscover Engineer
Prerequisites: Students are expected to have experience as a network administrator or above average network knowledge. Administrative users working with iDiscover should have a strong understanding of the networking environment. This includes an understanding of the following concepts: switches, VLANS, routers, MAC addresses, IP addressing, ARP, SNMP, Windows networking, TCP/IP, MIBs, Windows services, domain security, and structured cabling systems concepts.
This class is designed to teach students how to install, configure, implement and utilize the iDiscover module. iDiscover is an iTRACS software module that uses an Agent or Agents to locate, detect, and discover “intelligent”/active equipment on the network. iDiscover’s job is to collect and communicate information to and from the designated iTRACS server. Information such as: IP address, MAC address, OID, switch, switch port, and host name is retrieved.
Upon successful completion (requirements are listed below), the students are authorized to design, implement and maintain a Network Infrastructure database using iTRACS Intelligent Infrastructure Management (IIM) Software.
iTRACS Authorized iDiscover Engineer (iADE) certification requirements: Successful completion of the iDiscover pre-assessment and post-assessment exams, attend the one (1) day iDiscover class, and with the assistance of an iTRACS SE or current iADE, conduct an actual iDiscover implementation.
