Challenge: Managing and documenting a global voice and data infrastructure

Details: iTRACS Corporation worked with a Telecommunications Officer who had overall responsibility for managing a global infrastructure that supported voice, data and the installation of VoIP phones to manage the change control process within their complex network. They were also faced with E911 compliance issues which affected the Telecommunications Manager, Director and the CTO.
iTRACS Physical Layer Manager (iTRACS PLM) enabled comprehensive management of their complex network and work order process. This software allowed them to effectively issue work orders from start to finish with sign-off procedures in place. Managing any and all changes which occurred while maintaining the integrity of their network connections and documentation became a streamlined process. This included voice and data connections.
Continued connectivity and troubleshooting were possible using iTRACS iDiscover via SNMP to verify network connectivity and path tracing capabilities for both voice and data. iTRACS iPBX made managing the POTS side of voice deployment easier. Administrators were able to upload CSV files and manage POTS connections through their PBX systems.
The result was a more effectively managed network infrastructure with enhanced use of other network management tools, giving the Telecom Manager and CTO better use of assets. They were also able to maximize use of their capital and operational expenditures, providing more efficient use of the budgetary process and maintaining standards compliance.
