Turn raw data into powerful visual insight and intelligence
Humans are innately visual creatures and they respond best to visual tools, especially when it comes to managing a data center -- one of the most complex, interconnected entities on Earth. This explains why interactive 3D visualization -- The Efficiency Engine® from iTRACS® -- has generated such worldwide acceptance and popularity.
iTRACS® 3D modeling and visualization use the data streams from your various infrastructure systems to create a virtual 3D environment that is interactive and navigable, giving you the ability to plan, manage, and optimize your phyiscal infrastructure with unparalleled confidence and precision.
Simply point and click through your entire physical ecosystem -- IT and facility systems -- for a rich, hands-on understanding of what's happening on the floor of your data center and why. Toggle between 3D and 2D views across a choice of three interfaces: Web browser, Windows® Client and iPad® mobile app. Armed with this visual insight, you and your team can intuitively:
- Reduce energy consumption and costs related to both power and cooling.
- Manage data center growth, run "what if" scenarios to project capacity needs, and defer CapEx wherever possible.
- Utilize iTRACS workflow management with speed and precision, including intelligent commissioning.
- Conduct root cause analysis and diagnostics with visual precision to help optimize availability.
- Turn data into actionable information that can drive growth and competetive differentiation.
Interactive 3D visualization creates actionable information. This, in turn, drives the knowledge-based decisions that are key to increasing efficiency throughout the data center ecosystem.

Templates and SKUs
What is a Template and how is it different from a Stencil, Symbol, or drawing?
Most IT Management and DCIM solutions use generic pictures to visualize an asset. These generic images may not accurately reflect the size of the asset, number, and locations of connectors on the asset and various data points such as weight and power draw. By being generic and non-standard, gaps can be created within the data set, leading to errors, delay, or confusion.
Instead, the iTRACS Template is intended to serve as an exact representation of the asset. If we take a complex piece of equipment like a blade server: the chassis, each card, hard drive, power supply and connector is a configurable component. Each of these components are a separate Template.
Currently over 150,000 different Templates are available. If a customer happens to have something not in our repository, they can request that one be built through their Maintenance or Subscription plan. Or if they prefer, they can build their own Template using iTRACS Data Manager.
That level of detail sounds complicated. How does iTRACS Simplify this process?
Within iTRACS there is the concept of a SKU. SKUs are a collection of Templates that make up a deployable instance of the asset. Some companies may refer to these as model or library items. Through SKUs, iTRACS can help ensure your infrastructure management application aligns with your vendor management applications and workflow systems.
